When we apply for an Aadhaar card, we are given the enrolment slip. The slip is really important as the slip has the enrolment ID on it. The Enrolment is really important because we can trace the progress of the application with help of EID. We can also download the Aadhaar Card with help of EID but there are some among us who end up losing their Enrolment Slip. In such a case it becomes almost impossible to track the progress but there is a way to retrieve your lost EID or UID with help of the UIDAI website. In this article, we have explained that how can you go about retrieving your UID and EID.
Steps to get Aadhaar Card with lost acknowledgement Slip
Follow the steps mentioned below to retrieve your Enrollment ID and download your Aadhaar Card:
Step 1: The first step is to navigate to the Retrieve EIC/UID Portal. You can access the portal by clicking here (https://resident.uidai.gov.in/find-uid-eid). Here is a screenshot of the portal.
Step 2: Once the portal is displayed, you can click on UID or EID from the first pane of the portal. If the Aadhaar number has been generated, you can select UID and if it was not generated, select EID.
Step 3: Now, enter your full name, Email address, Mobile number and the captcha code. Ensure that you use the number which was registered during the Aadhaar enrolment. After entering all the details, click on Send One Time Password Button.
Step 4: Once you click on the button, you will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP in the designated area and click on verify OTP button. After clicking the button, wait for a few minutes and the EID or the UID will be shared with you on the text message on your registered mobile number.
Step 5: Now since you have the enrollment number or the Aadhaar number, you can go ahead and download the Aadhaar card easily. To get your Aadhaar card, click here (https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/). This will redirect you to the page where you can download your Aadhaar card. The screenshot of the page has been attached below.
Step 6: Enter all the details, you can start with Enrolment ID or the Aadhaar Number and then enter your name, mobile number, pin code and the captcha code. Once you have entered all the details, click on Get One Time Password. You will now receive and OTP on your registered mobile number.
Step 7: After entering the OTP in the designated area, click on Validate and Download. This will download the Aadhaar card on your computer. The pdf file will be password protected and you need to punch in your pin code to open the file.
Please Note – you would not be able to download your Aadhaar or you will not be able to retrieve your UID or EID if in case,your mobile number is not registered with UIDAI. To resolve the issue, you will have to visit the nearest enrollment centre and the executive there would be able to assist you with the problem.
